About
Mary Frances Milburn has practiced law as a sole proprietor in Massachusetts since she was sworn
in, June 2003. She Graduated from the Massachusetts School of Law in May 2003 with a J.D. in the
major concentration of Real Estate Law. She was recently awarded the Volunteer of the Year award by
the Essex County BAR Association on May 21, 2009 for her pro-bono work in the Essex County
Probate/Family Court’s “lawyer for the Day” program. She served as the program’s Volunteer
Coordinator at the court’s Salem location from December 2007 through July 2008 assisting the indigent
with issues including divorce, custody, guardianship, and probate. She currently volunteers once a
month at the Salem Council on Aging providing elders with legal assistance.
Mary also holds an M.S. in Operations Management from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute Hartford
Graduate Center at Avery Point (1991) and is a former business analyst and manager having held
positions at Putnam Investor Services, Chase Manhattan and Chase Global Funds. She has also
worked in the mortgage loan industry at National Bank Alaska (now Wells Fargo), and East West
Mortgage.
Mary holds a B.A. in Chemistry and a minor in Economics from Wellesley College (1982) where she
published research with Professor Dr. Stuart Rosenfeld in Organic Chemistry. She worked on silicon
wafer technology for CGA, and nickel/hydrogen satellite batteries for Lockheed Martin/Yardney Battery.
A native of Boston Mary grew up in Readville, Massachusetts and graduated from Boston Latin School
in 1978. She currently resides in Beverly and is ready to assist you with the legal issues of importance
to you and your family.
